“Sacred Theatre is based on the idea that your life is a great play – rich dialogue, cast of thousands, many scenes and locations, terrific drama, soul-stirring action. You are invited to step onto the sacred stage of your life for more energy, more expressiveness, more playfulness, more creativity, and a clearer understanding of the beauty of your life.”
Explore the Nine Powers of Sacred Theatre
The most rewarding way to look at your life as a Sacred Player is to ask yourself questions relating to each of the powers:
For the Power of Incarnation: How do I become more fully embodied? What gift do I bring to the world? What is the powerful active verb I am here to become?
For the Power of Story: What story am I playing now? Is it a mystery, or a love story, or a quest? How does my story contribute to and participate in the Life on Earth story?
For the Power of Now!: What is happening right now? What am I perceiving? What am I sensing? What touches of my past are in this present moment? What about this present moment do I wish to send into the future?
For the Power of Place: Where is my sense of true home? What place on the earth gives me strength and a sense of purpose? What elements encourage me to stand tall and true to myself?
For the Power of Expression: What engages my heart? What inspires my whole body? What warms my throat? What powerful action verb underlies my desire to communicate?
For the Power of Point of View: How do I see the world? Is there anything in my life asking me to look at it with fresh eyes?
For the Power of Conflict: How do I honor conflict as an essential part of the play of life? In my present conflicts, how am I being asked to grow?
For the Power of Audience: Who are the members of my sacred audience? How do I behave as an audience member for other people's plays?
For the Power of Celebration: What am I most grateful for in the amazing play that is my life? How do I celebrate the gift of being alive?

“It will never be finished, or complete;
Questions to askWhat might a Great Goddess have to say today to modern women and their daughters? Men, too, of course. What does she want; how does she appear? What is her role in human life, in planetary life, now in this moment? What would we like her to be? What can we do that will enhance her?
Acknowledging HerI believe she is present in women’s lives, as we live them, and by centering on her aliveness, we can begin to express her fully and effectively. Our work is to seek her, discover her, invite her, celebrate her and know her to be unfailingly present and cherishing in every season of our lives. And to embody and live that truth for our daughters’ sakes – and sons, husbands, brothers, lovers, too. Most important, to tell the story of her aliveness in and around us everywhere, through all the seasons of life. Meditate, study, ponder, and then begin to create hymns, laments, prayers, praise songs, art, designs, and stories, stories, stories. It’s helpful to consider a pattern of Her life in our lives. Perhaps this one will inspire you to remember, or make up, a truth about how she revealed herself through these “Nine Seasons: Stages of a Woman’s Life.”

Now that the Sacred Theatre book is done, I intend to re-focus on this project, and set up a website where existing art and writings may be shown, new ones added, and offerings from contributors seen and honored. In other words create a virtual book.
I hope you will participate with suggestions and offerings by sending them in Word documents to firstname.lastname@example.org. Sacred Theatre workshops will devote a portion of each session to this writing, so we encourage you to participate in the workshops near you.
